Hongji Bridge

  Hongji Bridge is located in Dongqiao Village, 25 kilometers east of Guangfu Town, Yongnian District, Handan City, Hebei Province, spanning the Fuyang River from east to west. Hongji Bridge is a single-hole double-shouldered stone arch bridge made of bluestone masonry. The large arch coupon resembles a Changhong flying frame, with two small coupons on each of its two ends. The shape is magnificent. The bridge is 48.9 meters long from east to west and 6.82 meters wide. The main arch has a span of 31.88 meters and a height of 6.02 meters. It is composed of 18 single coupons arranged in a vertical direction. Dragon play beads and so on. On the outside of the small ticket at the west end are engraved with flying dragons and tangled flowers. There are 18 square pillars on both sides of the bridge, and the top is engraved with lions, monkeys and peaches. There are 34 fences and 4 drum stones, with animals, flowers and related historical allusions carved on them. "Hongji Bridge" is engraved on the outer side of the fence of the middle part of the bridge. The inscription is "Guangping Prefecture Jia Yingbi, Tuguan Official Retainer, Tong Judge Weekly Review, Tong Zhi Dong Xuan established, Wanli ten years old, October, October, Good Hitachi." The original monument was rebuilt in the 14th year of Daoguang. Hongji Bridge, also known as the sister bridge of Zhaozhou Bridge, was announced by the State Council as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units in May 2006.
