Wu Yuxiang Former Residence

It is the former residence of Wu Yuxiang, the master of Taijiquan of the Wu family. It is located on East Street (also known as Yingchun Street) in the city. It covers an area of 9,000 square meters. There are 75 original houses and 42 existing ones. They belong to the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. On the south side of the front yard, there is a spacious and bright sedan house. The northern part of the sedan is the main building of Wu Yuxiang's former residence. The building complex is composed of three axes, east, west, and center, facing south. The building on the middle axis is the axis of the house, which is a common triple-entry courtyard in the north. On both sides of the central axis building complex, there were originally two axis buildings. Although it is also a three-entry courtyard, its architectural nature and style are basically the same as those on the central axis, but its building scale and building height are slightly lower. And so on, the decoration is relatively rudimentary, not available now. There are private houses in the east, and two study rooms in the south of the axis are left in the west. Originally in the backyard of the Wu-style residence, there was originally a back garden 60 meters wide from east to west and 40 meters long from north to south. The garden was full of lush flowers and plants, lush trees, rockery, lotus pond, pavilions, turtle ponds and martial arts grounds. It's a pity that it doesn't exist anymore
